This is one of my favorite slept on albums and my honor to bring to those who haven’t heard. Is the second studio album by Detroit rapper (right-hand man to famed rapper Eminem and lead member of hip hop group D12), who, sadly, was, marking this as his final studio project.
I personally feel that this album isn’t as revered as it should be, although I know that it did receive critical acclaim from the likes of HipHopDX, Allmusic and more. Almost every track on this album is filled with those Detroit-motown beats and Proof’s deep-felt, personal lyrics and story-telling is so compelling, I can’t help but listen to this more than once whenever I hear it.

My favorite track is “Forgive Me (feat. 50 Cent)” as it seems one of the most intense and heart-felt songs on the album.

You can really feel the passion and energy Proof put into this project, whereas on his he seemed to be more about just rapping and showing-off his crazy skills. Other notable tracks are “Clap wit Me” and “Kurt Kobain.” With great production from the likes of, and more, this album is sure to impress any fan of midwest hip hop. To date, this is hands-down my favorite Proof project, out of all his albums, EPs, mixtapes, features, etc. Because it is the truest form of Proof’s rapping and the soul he put into it is reflective in every bar. In memory of Proof, please put this in your daily April rotation.
